Miniatures to look at in awe......

Have you seen this coachella video on youtube? It's so awesome!! It was directed, shot, cut and finished by Sam O'Hare (www.oovfx.com | www.pixelpollen.com). I already wanted to go even before watching it and now I'm aching to go! One day-le sigh. I really love things miniature and all the tiny people look so cute! Also they're live webcasting Coachella on youtube this entire weekend so you can still enjoy the tunes without the camping, moshing, and standing in line for the bathrooms and showers!

A few months ago I stumbled upon another miniature video of a tiny San Francisco! Enjoy!

I love this kissing thingy...

One more Valentine's Day idea before the weekend.  This Kissing Thaumatrope by The Brooding Hen is adorable! These would be cute as a wedding decoration that people could play with or maybe twirling in the wind as they hang from tree branches. And you can use non-kissing photos and create the illusion of other activities.

Ghost Academy makes it easy to express your love....

These Valentine cards from Ghost Academy are awesome.  They're sweet and spunky all at the same time-just how I like my greeting cards!

The sea of love...

One day I'd love to go to the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant in the Maldives. It's supposed to be the world's only aquarium-style restaurant.  It's like dinner and a show! I'm a big fan of dining experiences that go beyond the dinner table even if they may seem gimmicky or kind of cheesy. The restaurant below doesn't fall into those aforementioned categories to me though.  It looks amazing!

The restaurant only seats 12 so it'll certainly be an intimate affair.

In the mood for love...

What are some items around your home that make you think about love or how much you love that special someone? Here's some of mine that make my heart beat just a little bit happier.

Our extra large framed poster of Robert Doisneau's photo,  Le Baiser De L'Hôtel De Ville. We actually scored it for free from craigslist-it's my favorite craigslist find of all time!

Fresh flowers such as beautiful peonies (my fave).  I think we all deserve fresh flowers in the home ALL the time, they honestly make a space cheerier and make my smiles brighter.

And this book from my partner-yes it's the one from Sex and The City.  Everytime I read it I am amazed by how these men could express themselves so beautifully.

Aaaah love.

So glad I rediscovered you...come on over, over...

I just rediscovered this song when I saw YACHT on the Coachella line up.  Oh Coachella, one day I shall feast my eyes upon your abundant musical artists. Til then I'll smile that others will be smiling and rocking to this song during your 2011 run.

My favorite lines "come on over, over, come on, over, over, come on over we're havin a party for you"

You are love......

This would be a wonderful gift to that special someone in your life for Valentine's Day or anyday, or a gift that special someone could give you! Reading it everyday would definitely make me perk up in the morning. Find it at The Love Shop.

Time to get gangsta with your love......

The folks at ban.do are so talented! Their headbands, their clips, their styling are all lovely and swoon-worthy. I am in love with this Ban.do model's lipstick.  I never thought about buying a fuchsia-y pink lipstick until now.  She makes it look soooooo good!  She looks so great that confetti in hair looks like an accessory!

I also love this hair clip by ban.do.  One of the ad lines is amazing- "it’s time to get gangsta with your love."

Keep it simple baby...

For the past week I've been looking for a simple white dish set with four settings for less than $100.  I want them to be all white, durable for everyday use, microwave & dishwasher safe.  And since it's an entire set I've been debating between compromising and getting something that I don't competely love but is affordable or to wait and keep searching. I was almost ready to bite the bullet a few times until I found the "one".  Here's some of the dish sets that I was considering.

The Corelle Winter Frost White was the most affordable and were hard to pass up because I know how reliable the plates are, but alas I was hoping for a rounder bowl like the ones below.

The Aida Loft 20 Piece Dinnerware Set is great because it comes with a serving plate and bowl.  You can have dinner right out of the box, remember to make dinner though.  There are even salt and pepper shakers!

This Dansk Edesia Set was almost perfect as well.  I wanted plates that were even flatter and simpler, but the bowls and mugs were just right!
The Quadro 16 Piece Dinnerware Set also has a nice round bowl, but the plates were too square for me.

The Casa Moda Portico 65 Piece Dinnerware Set which has service for 12 was the ultimate in that not only is it dinner in a box but it's a party in a box too!  Dinner for 12 for less than $70-amazing! I almost got this set because it was such a great deal but the dishes weren't perfect yet.

And then I found these!
They are the Hoverkraft line from Gourmet Settings.  Yes you read right, hoverkraft! I thought they looked so interesting and unique I had to get them! They're called hoverkraft because they "hover" above the dinner table.  Now all I need is new flatware to go with my new dishes!  What's some dinnerware that you've been eyeing lately?  I've also been cyberstalking the Chirp line by Lenox.

I wanna hear it over and over my love.....

Ever since I saw this video on Cup of Jo I keep having the urge to listen to the song over and over (and over) again.  It's a cover of Sea of Love by Cat Power and was in the movie Juno.  New life list addition: learn to play Cat Power's cover of Sea of Love on guitar (my other guitar song that I intend to learn is Wonderwall by Oasis).  Enjoy both! I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Like a waterfall of polaroids...

I like to think about what kind of DIY wall art I'd like to put on my walls and for awhile I was considering painting a large horizontal stripe across my walls so that your eye can follow it around the room.  The only problem is that my walls aren't smooth, they're textured so the clean modern line sweeping across my living and dining nook wouldn't look so clean and sleek.  The other day I thought what if I made a thick horizontal line of photographs-like rows of photographs?! So I'm going to try that instead.  I haven't yet started on this project yet because I'm in the midst of downsizing my belongings/ putting things into storage, but I'm excited. I scoured the internet today looking for inspiration and found these great polaroid collections on display.  Now I NEED a polaroid camera!

This hotel suite is absolutely amazing!!!

 I love the oversized frame.

I think this is one of my favorite photos, I love the sofa, pillow, large frame with all the polaroids-there are so many elements that work wonderfully together.

Photos 1,4,8 are from the Palihouse Hotel found via elementsofstyle. Photo 2 is of Lou Noble's home via Apartment Therapy. Photo 3 is of Amanda Merten from her blog strangelyattached. Photo 5 is by Tod Brilliant. Photo 6 is by 10 cent designer found via sfgirlbybay and photo 7 is of Tosca Radigonda's home by martha stewart found via decorology.

It's a nice day for a white wedding...yeeaaahhhhhh....

Billy Idol shout out! If wearing white was appropriate for guests to wear at weddings then I would wear one of these white/creme colored dresses from Topshop. A bit much huh?  But since the bride has dibs on white I can definitely "settle" for the coral version instead. If I were the bride I'd probably wear the first dress to one of the dinners on my honeymoon. Aaaahhhhh the romance.

Delicate eyelashes made of paper....yes paper.....

I found these paper eyelashes by Paperself and was blown away. They're so intricate and delicate looking.  These would be fun to wear for Halloween or a special Saturday night outing.

These Horse Lashes are on sale at UrbanOutfitters for $12.99.

 These are the "individual" lashes.

They're peonies, my favorite flower!

You can also find both sizes at Asos here  and here.

These are Slap-solutely adorable!

Slapsolutely refers to the Slaps-giving episode of How I Met Your Mother-sorry I just saw the rerun on tv today. And yes it means giving slaps.

How adorable are these Valentine's Day cards from Martha Stewart? They're small and have hearts and shimmer and shine.  Talk about perfection!  You can give 18 Valentine's Day cards to 18 special Valentines for $4.99.   Also have you seen these "Punch All Over The Page" Paper punches? It uses powerful magnets to keep the paper in place while the punch does its work! No more cutting strips of paper to make punches from the edges of the page!
